Essie Cashmere Matte & Gel Setter Review

It's been a really long time since I reviewed nail polish and I recently have been getting back into doing my nails. I loved in the past doing my nails because it relaxed me and it was time that I took for myself. But life got busy and I stopped. I'm glad that I'm now getting back to doing my nails.

Recently I went to Shoppers Drug Mart and wanted to pick up a nude nail polish and top coat. I saw that Shoppers was having a sale on a few of the nail polish brands that carry so I decided I would purchase from Essie since I like the brand. I picked up first the Gel Setter from Essie because I like the idea of using this with none gel polishes and then I saw All Eyes On Nude and I just loved the shade so I bought this. It's a really beautiful nude and actually reminds me of the packaging of Kim Kardashian West makeup line that is coming out.

I'm back with another empties post! Here are the products that I have recently finished.

1. Murad Blackhead & Pore Clearing Duo I received this sample set from Sephora in December when I was doing some shopping. This duo is to reduce the formation of black heads. The Blackhead Remover was also like an exfoliating product and when were I used this I concentrated it on my nose area. This worked some what ok, it did take days to see any results. The Pore Refining Sealer is to tighten pore. The sample lasted about 2 1/2 weeks and it took almost a week to see results from the Blackhead Remover and sadly I didn't see any results from the Pore Refining Sealer.

2. Victoria's Secret Pure Seduction Red Plum & Freesia is described as a flirty, floral fragrance lotion that is fast absorbing and hydrating. I personally thought this lotion was ok. I wasn't a big fan of the smell. After a well for me this smell became annoying because it was too strong. But overall it is an ok lotion it is also bit to greasy. I feel that I would not purchase this again.    

3. Epic Blend Lip Balm in Wild Berry, I love this lip balm I used it all the time. It is not greasy, hydrating and long lasting.

4. Essie Nail Polish Aruba Blue has to be my favorite blue polish, my friend had a polish this same colour when I was a kid and I always wanted a polish of this colour. Aruba Blue is a frosty sapphire blue polish, if blue is your favorite colour you have to try this blue polish :)  

5. OPI Nail Envy Sensitive & Peeling, my nails peel all this time and it is annoying so when I saw this at IMATS I wanted to give this a try, I bought this a year ago and it has done nothing to help stop my nails from peeling. This is not worth buying!

Nail Polish Collection - Part 1 Essie

For the next few weeks I'm going to be reviewing my nail polish collection and up first are my Essie polishes.

 

 

 

Essie Fifth Avenue  (2 coats)

Essie Fifth Avenue is a orange red nail polish, it's a bright colour and all you really need is 2 coats sometimes you can even get away with apply one coat. The formula of this polish is not to thick and I think the brush is rather small.

 

 

Essie Aruba Blue (3 coats)

Essie Aruba Blue is an electric blue is a very vibrate colour. I remember when I was little my friend had a polish like this colour and she painted my nails, ever since then I have wanted a nail polish that is this tone of blue. Like Fifth Avenue the formula is no thick and the brush is small.

 

 

Essie Plumberry (2 coats)

These polish is a deep red it is one of my favourite polishes, I don't like red polishes but because its a dark red and not bright red I like it. The formula for this polish is the same as the others as well as the brush.

Nail Stamping Art From KKCenterHK

I was given a chance by kkcenterhk to try out there stamping nail art plate. I have tried stamping nail art before as a while back I got a mini kit for Christmas.

If you want to give nail stamping art a try you will need to purchases a nail kit, which you can get at kkcenterhk for $4.50 which is so much cheaper then buying a kit and of course stamping plates which are $5.05. Here is what there stamper and most plates look like. Also note that when you get a image plate there is protective plastic on top of it to protect the plate. It's kind of hard to see but make sure you remove the plastic before you start using it.

For me when I using stamping nail art, I like to only do it on one nail because sometimes I think it could look to busy if you do it on every nails depending on what image your using.

HOW IT WORKS

Nail stamping works by you putting nail polish on to the image you want to put on your nail, then with the scraper you scrap off the nail polish and what is left is the nail polish in the image. Next you take your stamper and stamp the image plate then quickly stamp it onto your nail. You then you have a great design on your nail.

Personally I don't use image plates a lot unless I have the time for it because I think it does take up a bit of time doing this and personally I like water decals better because it faster then this process. But that's just what I think.

Essie Summer Collection 2011

Check out Essie great colours for Summer 2011.
These colours really make your nails dazzle.

Colours: Absolutely Shore, Smooth Sailing, Super Bossa Nova, Braziliant, Meet Me At Sunset, Too Too Hot

My favourite colours from this collection have to be Smooth Sailing and Super Bossa Nova these colours are really pretty and Smooth Sailing reminds be of the beach and Super Bossa Nova  is just a nice bright fun colour.

Recently i went shopping a picked up Essie nail polish for the first time and I have to say I love it and I will be buying more of there polishes in the near future. There polish go on in 1 coat or 2 coats and that's all you need and for me they don't cheap fast like some other polishes.

Here are the colours that I got and the swatches.

Plumberrry is a berry red colour with a hint of pink.

 

 

Aruba Blue to me is kinda like an electric blue colour.

This one goes on in 1 coat but if your like me I always put on more then 1 coat.

Fifth Avenue is like a orange mixed with red, can't really tell in the picture but it's like a dark coral
