BEAUTY BENEFITS OF CASTOR OIL

Today I'm sharing with you all a post about castor oil which I'm very excited to share with you all. I have been using this oil since early December and I really love this stuff.

About The Product

Here is some information that I have gathered up about what castor oil actually is. Castor oil is full with Vitamin E, minerals and protein. As well castor oil has anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties. This is a vegetable oil from the castor seed. Now Solutions castor oil is a multi-purpose oil for the skin and hair.100% pure castor oil is pressed from the seed and is tasteless as well as odorless. Castor oil is considered to be one of the finest natural skin emollients.

Castor oil can be used for many things here is a list of uses for this oil:

My Experience 

There are also tons of other benefits that I didn't list which are beauty related and others that are not.

I personally have experience some great results with using this oil. When I first got this oil I read online about a hair challenge called grow your hair an inch in seven days. Which you're to apply castor oil to your scalp for seven days and message it in for 4 minutes at night. I did just that however I only did it for 6 days and my hair grew a nice amount I was so surprised. My hair grew from the longest point which was 28.4 inches to 29.5 inches in seven days. As well I noticed my hair looked thicker and shiny.

I have also been using this on my brows and lashes since I got this oil. As the reason I got this oil in the first place was because two of my favorite You Tubers mad a video about using castor oil to help grow and thicken their lashes and browns. I have notices my brows look a bit thicker as well a little bit of thickness I have notice for my lashes. As far as length of my lashes I don't think I have seen them get longer yet. But I know it will take longer to see those kinds of results. 

And last I have also used castor oil to help with joint pain. In December I had really bad pain my knee hurt really bad when I would bend it as well my whole right leg felt numb. Nothing the doctor gave me helped and then I saw that castor oil can help for joint pain so I tried this. I have to say in a day I noticed little bit of a difference and in a week I noticed even more of a difference. In maybe 3 weeks of using castor oil on my leg  ever day it felt better the numbness was the first this that went away and the pain in my knee took a bit longer to heel.

KARDASHIAN BEAUTY A WEEK OF KISSES REVIEW

This gloss set was a gift I got, my friend knows that I love the Kardashians. My favorite is Khloe, and when my friend went to the US she got me this gift. Sadly the Kardashian Beauty line in not sold in Canada I wish it was but it is sold in the US and UK. Hopefully it will be coming to Canada soon.

Sundays gloss is nude with sliver shimmer, I have to say I don't like this gloss at all I don't think it is a really unattractive colour.

Mondays gloss is a peachy nude gloss.

Tuesdays gloss is an coral pink gloss with gold shimmer.

 Wednesday gloss is dark orange with gold shimmer. 

Thursdays gloss is a baby pink shade.

Fridays gloss is a hot pink shade.

Saturdays gloss is a berry tone shade.

My favorite shades are Monday-Wildflower Honey, Wednesday-Wild Honey and my favorite out of my favorites is Saturday Blackberry. I don't have a berry gloss only lipsticks so this is prefect for days I don't want to wear lipstick but I still want to wear a berry colour on my lips :)

Overall

◦ Feels like a plumping gloss with a tingle when applied, however tingling feeling does ago away 

◦ Hard to apply straight from tube does not have an even application, you really have to work at it to get a good coverage

◦ Wish this set was a gloss set that came in a plastic or glass tube with a wand applicator for better application of product

◦ Has a nice amount of colour pay off, not a sheer gloss set

◦ I personally think the packaging could be better not a fan of the design

◦ Not all shades are great for different skin tones

◦ Not a sticky gloss has a nice thick butter smooth feel on lips

◦ Colour fades after a few house, but I don't see that as a big deal 

◦ I do like the idea of this set, I hope they come out with more

◦ All glosses have a nice pleasant smell

How to Create This Eye Look

First step is to prime your eye lids and lower lash line.

Then I applied the dark plum satin shadow from the Touch Tones Palette to my crease and outer v. Apply the purple shadow also to the inner part of your crease as well. Then taking the 6th shadow from the left of the palette I applied that to the middle of my lid, when with a blending brush I blend the two colours together.

Then with the 3rd colour from the palette I applied that gold shadow to my inner lid and tear duct.  Then to blend out my inner crease I took the first shadow from that palette which is a matte nude with a blending brush I applied the shadow and blend out the edge of where the gold shadow stopped and purple shadow stop.

Then taking the copper shadow which is the 4th shadow in the palette I applied that with a light hand above my crease with a blending brush.

Then I applied with a blending brush a cream colour matte shadow to highlight my brow bone. This is the 2nd shadow in the palette.

For my lower lash like I applied the 3rd shadow into my tear duct, then a applied the same shadow that same shadow that is on the middle part of my lid onto the middle of my lower lash line and the I applied the purple to my outer lower lash line. Using a pencil brush to do this and I blend the shadows together.

Then apply liquid or gel liner in a winged liner style. Apply mascara you can also curl your lashes if you like. Then finish the rest of your makeup the way you want. I added false lashes to add more drama to this look and I used a raspberry blush and purple lips to finish off the look.

LUSH GREASE LIGHTNING CLEANSER REVIEW

Today I have a review on a Lush product called Grease Lightening. I've been wanting to try Lush products since I keep seeing UK bloggers talk about the brand. I bought myself this and a cleanser which I will review soon. As well my cousin bought me some Lush products for Christmas.

About The Product

Review

First I don't get too much pimples I'm pretty lucky with that but once in a while I will get a little bump and I like to take care of it before it turns into a pimple. This product sparked my interested because of the name and I thought it will be a good addition to add to my skin care routine to help fight my battle with oil skin lol. This product is not a cleanser it's more of a treatment, so you don't apply this to your face and wash it off. What you do is after you wash your face pump out a small amount of this product and apply with clean finger to any area that has pimples or that is starting to form into a pimple. I think this product works great I apply it to a little bump I saw on my face and within 3 days I noticed the bump was no longer there.  I'm not sure if this really helps to remove oil from my skin but I think in combination with the products that I'm currently using it may help. It has a strong smell I can't put my finger on what it reminds me off but I know I've smelled something like this product before. This is a great spot treatment and it's a nice size bottle unlike Clean & Clear which is small. This bottle will last you a great amount of time.

LUSH FRESH FACE MASK REVIEW - CUPCAKE

This is one of my favorite gifts that I got for Christmas and it's something that I also wanted if you saw my Christmas wish list post that I did this was on it.

Review

This mask smells so yummy almost good enough to eat but my friend told me "Cupcake face mask is the greatest invention ever. Don't taste it tho. I'm speaking from experience" so I won't taste it. I love the smell of this mask it smells so amazing it smells like chocolate and peppermint. When I apply the mask I use a flat foundation brush from Real Techniques so I don't have to use my fingers. I think this method is best. You leave the mask on for five to ten minutes but don't let it dry. When I washed my face I really get a better smell of the ingredients, I can't believe how good this mask smells. Best smelling mask I have tried. It also looks like your putting mud on your face when you see yourself in the mirror lol but who care, right? I believe this mask for me help with my oily skin I've been using it every day since Christmas and I plan to buy myself this mask once it's done. I also love how afterward when I wash it off it leave your face smelling like chocolate and peppermint in the morning I can still somewhat smell it on my face. Oh and with this product you must keep it in the fridge.

For Christmas I ordered a few gifts from Sephora and they were having an offer to get a bag filled with a few sample for free. Of course I jumped and the chance and added this deal to my shopping chart when I checked out.

Review

This lip gloss is a sheer lip gloss that has natural ingredients in it that smooth and hydrate the lips. This is a pluming lip gloss so it's great if you have thin lips and you want to plum them up a bit. You can feel the pluming working. If you have ever tried a plumping gloss before you get a tingle feeling on your lips as well most plumping glosses that I have tried also have a minty smell. I like the colour of this gloss it's described as a rosewood shimmer. This is a pretty natural colour for everyday wear. I have the small sample size of this product but the full size is 0.15 oz.

If you want to see before and after picture to see how much it plumped my lips let me know and I will add it to the post.

BEN NYE FINAL SEAL REVIEW

Setting spray is a great product to help make your make up last all day long. I have tried one other setting spray in the pass and sadly it didn't meet my expectations. About a month ago I picked up this setting spray from IMATS Toronto which is the Ben Nye Final Seal, I have wanted to try this for a while know. Enjoy the review :)

About The Product

From Studio F/X website "Final Seal keeps makeup in place, even when performers perspire heavily. Apply pre-makeup to retard perspiration, and over any completed makeup for a smudge-proof finish. Adds durability to air-brushed Liquid Paints. Alcohol-based with fresh mint scent. Use in well-ventilated area."

Review

Ben Nye Final Seal comes in 4 sizes the smallest size is 1 fl.oz, 2 fl.oz, 8 fl.oz, 16 fl.oz. I bought the 2 fl.oz which is 59 ml. It says on the Studio F/X website to expect 20 to 50 applications per ounce. "Final Seal provides a waterproof, matte top coat for most types of make-up," is what it says on the Ben Nye bottle. I was very impressed with this product you only need 1 to 2 sprays hold the bottle 8 to 10 inches from face and spray. Your to spray lightly which is why I recommend only 1 to 2 sprays of this product because it does say on the bottle to "avoid saturation" or you can spray once and wait for the product to dry then spray again if you feel you need too. This setting spray really did a good job at keeping my face matte. At the end of the day my face didn't look or feel too oily. The only place I did have a bit of shine was on my nose. I used my Eden primer from Urban Decay on one of the days I was testing Final Seal because for me Urban Decay's primer in Eden always creases. Ben Nye Final Seal did a good job at keeping my eye make-up in place for a good part of my day, however my eye make-up did crease by the end of my day but it lasted a lot longer than it does when I didn't use Final Seal. Overall I really like this setting spray, it also does have a strong minty smell to it which doesn't last once the spray dries.

It's hard to find a place that would ship Ben Nye liquid products to Canada. The online store I purchased Ben Nye Banana Powder only ships Ben Nye liquid products within the US, but I did find two Canadian site that carries Ben Nye. One which is the company I purchased Final Seal from at IMATS called Kind of Magic and the other company I found was Studio F/X. Kind of Magic only sells 2 sizes and Studio FX sells all 4 sizes.

Favorite Products Of 2013

2013 is over and it's now 2014! I hope everyone had a safe and happy new year :)
I'm sharing a list of my favorite products that I enjoyed using last year.

These are my favorite lashes!

I use this all the time for my brows.

This for me is an everyday lip gloss and I wear it a lot.

This is a good concealer and can also be used a primer.

This is an everyday blush, one of my favorite blushes out of all the blushes I have.

I use this all the time to blend out other shades, or days when I'm wearing a little bit of makeup.

I love this polish because it dries fast!

This is a good concealer that is cheap, I also like Fit Me but I recently finished it so I no longer have it to add it to this list.

Both great mascaras I like lashgasm for my bottom lashes and Tarte is great for both bottom and top lashes.

I have a bunch of Glamour Doll Eyes pigments and I really like the white pigments to add to my tear duct and Dirty Jeans is my favorite pigment, it's a beautiful colour.

I like using this palette to apply liner to my waterline.

I use this shadow for my brows if I'm not my Make Up For Ever Brow Corrector.
